Brad’s 2009 Big East Conference Predictions

Big East
1. South Florida (17)- Much like Juice and Illinois, Grothe and the Bulls will return to 2007 form led by the best coach, QB, and defender in the league. Surprise Big East Champ.
2. West Virginia (21)- The post-Rodrigues/White era in West Virginia could be rough. Devine is an incredible RB, but QB transition will be tough and conf. schedule is not favorable.
3. Pittsburgh (26)- Most talented in the conference, but I just can’t pick any Dave Wannstache team to win any kind of championship, whether it be Pop Warner ball or Big East.
4. Rutgers (28)- Got a lot coming back but unfortunately not at many of the skill positions. All of their tough conference games come at home but they’ll manage to drop a couple.
5. Cincinnati (32)- In a very deep Big East this year, I’m picking the defending champs to finish 5th. Only have 1 R.S. on defense and have to play 3 of the top 4 in the BE on the road.
6. UConn (56)- If Dixon stays healthy the Huskies have a chance to make a 3rd straight bowl game. Just don’t see it with 5 solid Big East teams that should all beat them.
7. Louisville (65)- Another losing record for Kragthore. The Big East will be better this year, and for the first time in nearly a decade the Cards won’t have a superstar QB to rely on.
8. Syracuse (86)- The Greg Paulus experiment will be interesting to watch if he earns the starting job or at least gets in for a few series each game. Team will struggle regardless.
