Week 1 College Football Researchers Association (CFRA) Poll
Posted by deaconcat08 on September 7, 2010
This week’s poll results are ready to be published, and here a few quick observations. First of all, we had the most ballots cast since the reinstitution of the CFRA poll last fall. We’ve had several new voters join us in the past few weeks and overall 16 ballots were cast. You will see that Boise State and Alabama shared all 16 of those first place votes, which is a major departure from the major polls where Ohio State gathered a significant number of first-place votes. Also, you can almost say that this poll should be divided into two halves, as their is a huge gap (55 points) between the 13th place team (Miami) and the 14th place team (Penn State). Interestingly enough, the same substantial gap exists in the AP poll, as the exact same top 13 squads received way more votes than the rest of the ranked teams. Furthermore, we have multiple ties in this week’s CFRA poll with Iowa and Florida tied at 7th and Oregon and Wisconsin tied at 10th. Here are this week’s rankings.
