Bracketology Results for 2011

Posted by deaconcat08 on March 14, 2011

After watching the selection show, my initial reaction was that I didn’t have a very accurate bracket projection this season, as I missed 3 teams and was significantly off on a few teams seedings..  However, upon going to the bracket matrix (http://bracketproject.50webs.com/matrix.htm).  I realized that I placed 10th out of the 89 nationally-recognized bracketologists.  Congratulations for my 68 and 16 colleague Justin who did even better by placing 3rd in the entire nation.  Tripp also deserves some recognition for not only winning both of our side bets made on the Sunday podcast (UCSB not in play game and USC in field), but for missing only 2 teams.  I also thumped Lunardi for the 3rd straight season (he finished tied for 52nd on the matrix) adding further proof that he is the most overhyped (and presumably overpaid) analyst in the history of sports.

In the NIT, I did about as good as I always do with 29 out of 32 teams picked correctly.  However, I couldn’t be more wrong about Miami, who I had as the 2nd team out of the NIT and then was named a # 2 seed.   Thanks to all those who followed my bracket projections over the past several weeks!
