Brad’s 2023 NFL Preview: Playoff Predictions

Now that I have thoroughly analyzed the upcoming college football season, it is time for me to publish my fourth annual NFL preseason football guide. Much like my college preview, I have gone through and analyzed every NFL team’s regular season and postseason, as well as selected my disappointment and surprise teams and upsets to watch out for.

Here are my predictions for this year’s playoffs. Please read the AFC and NFC regular season predictions entry to see how each team ended up with the seed they have below.

Wildcard Playoffs (winners in bold)
2Kansas City (12-5)
7Buffalo (10-7)
3Miami (11-6)
6Baltimore (10-7)
4Jacksonville (11-6)
5LA Chargers (11-6)
Divisional Playoffs (winners in bold)
1Cincinnati (13-4)
7Buffalo (10-7)
3Miami (11-6)
5LA Chargers (11-6)
Conference Championship Game (winners in bold)
1Cincinnati (13-4)
5LA Chargers (11-6)

NFC Playoffs

Wildcard Playoffs (predicted winners in bold)
2Chicago (10-7)
7Green Bay (8-9)
3Seattle (10-7)
6San Francisco (9-8)
4New Orleans (9-8)
5Philadelphia (12-5)
Divisional Playoffs (predicted winners in bold)
1Dallas (12-5)
6San Francisco (9-8)
2Chicago (10-7)
5Philadelphia (12-5)
Conference Championship Game (predicted winner in bold)
1Dallas (12-5)
5Philadelphia (12-5)

Super Bowl LVIII

Super Bowl (predicted winner in bold)
1Cincinnati (13-4)
1Dallas (12-5)

Kansas City and Philadelphia are the obvious picks to get back to the Super Bowl but that would be too predictable. Instead, I am calling for the Bengals to make it to their second super bowl in three seasons, and the Cowboys to win the NFC for the first time in almost 30 years. I am then predicting Burrow to outduel Prescott on the world’s biggest stage, and the Bengals to win their first Super Bowl in franchise history.
