Week 6 Football Upsets to Watch Out For

These are in order from least shocking to most shocking according to the current lines at the Caesars Sportsbook.

Jacksonville State (+3.0) at Middle Tennessee- (Wed) 8:00– The Gamecocks keep finding ways to win games, and I think they could keep it going in Murfeesboro tonight against a mediocre Blue Raider squad.
Tulsa (+3.5) at FAU– 6:00- Both of these teams are pretty bad, but I think the Hurricane is a tad more talented than the Owls.
Pittsburgh (+4.0) vs. Baltimore- (Sun) 1:00– The switch from Pickett to Trubisky might be an upgrade for the Steelers, and these divisional games are always tough for road favorites.
Jacksonville (+5.5) vs. Buffalo- (Sun) 9:30 AM– I predicted this upset in the preseason and I am sticking to it. The Jags have a huge advantage here as they got to play in London last week and to stay in town while the Bills have to deal with overseas travel, jet lag, etc. Seems like a great spot for Jacksonville.
Missouri (+6.0) vs. LSU- 12:00– Not sure where the Bayou Bengals are psychologically after experiencing a heartbreaking defeat in Oxford last Saturday. Also, Missouri has played really well this season, especially at home.
Wyoming (+6.5) vs. Fresno State- 8:00– This just seems like the perfect spot for an upset, as Laramie has turned into a house of horrors for road favorites.
Iowa State (+6.5) vs. TCU- 8:00– The Cyclones are admittedly bad this season, but Iowa State seems to always find ways to beat slightly superior foes in Jack-Trice.
FIU (+6.5) at New Mexico State- (Wed) 9:00– I understand this is a long road trip, but I think the Panthers might be the more talented team here.
Oklahoma State (+12.0) vs. Kansas State- (Fri) 7:30– The Cowboys have been one of the biggest disappointments of the year so far, but they are always tough to play in Boone Pickens stadium. I just have the feeling that this may be the week that Gundy’s group puts it all together and takes a major step forward.
Temple (+14.0) vs. UTSA- 2:00– This Roadrunners team has taken a major step back this season, and even though Temple is pretty terrible, they always find a way to pull off a home upset or two.
Kentucky (+14.5) at Georgia- 7:00– This pick may be more wishful thinking than anything, as this would be one of the greatest wins of my life if the Cats were able to win this game. With that being said, while I was watching Georgia play inside of Jordan-Hare stadium last Saturday, I couldn’t help but think that there just seems to be something off about this team. Yes, Brock Bowers is a superstar, but the rest of the offense lacks playmakers. Meanwhile, the UGA defense got gashed on the ground by an Auburn team who couldn’t move the ball against either Cal or Texas A & M. If Kentucky isn’t affected by the environment and plays its best game, I think they can pull off this upset.

Last week’s Upset Pick of the Week: South Florida (+3.0) over Navy
