Here is a compilation that I’ve been working on for a few weeks. I have closely analyzed each year in sports and have selected the “greatest” sports moments every year from 1950 to 2014 (so far). Greatest is intended to mean most significant in this case, and I have included only “on the field” moments for this list. For example, the Munich Massacre, OJ Simpson Trial, and Nancy Kerrigan-Tonya Harding scandal were certainly significant sports moments, but because they took place off the field of play, they are not included below. I tried to be as objective as possible in evaluating the various sports moments each year, as games that I both enjoyed and despised are featured below. However, because I favor certain sports over others, there is a certain amount of bias in which events are included.
