For the twelfth season, I have published weekly columns late in the month of November which analyze all of he FBS conference championship races. Like my bowl bubble watch, there is not really a column like this on any other mainstream college football site. This list is updated through all games played on November 28, 2021.
ACC Atlantic– Wake Forest (Oh My God!!! I can’t believe this happened!)
ACC Coastal– Pittsburgh
Big 12– Baylor/Oklahoma State (The Cowboys will meet the Bears next Saturday in the Cinderella Big 12 Title Game. In addition to the conference championship, the Pokes are playing for a potential College Football Playoff bid and Baylor is playing for a spot in a New Year’s Six bowl.)
Big Ten East– Michigan (Harbaugh finally gets the Wolverines over the hump!)
Big Ten West– Iowa (Well, we all thought we were going to get Ohio State/Wisconsin in next weekend’s Big Ten Title Game and instead we end up with Iowa vs. Michigan. The Wolverines will be trying to qualify for their first CFP ever and Iowa will be playing for a spot in just their second Rose Bowl in the 30 years.)
Pac-12 North– Oregon (The Ducks bounce back from their blowout loss in Salt Lake City to knock off the Beavers and earn a rematch against the Utes.)
Pac-12 South– Utah
SEC East– Georgia
SEC West– Alabama
————————————————————
American– Cincinnati/Houston
C-USA East– Western Kentucky (The Hilltoppers dominated the Herd on the road to win the C-USA East and earn a trip to San Antonio to face the Roadrunners.)
C-USA West– UTSA
MAC East– Kent State (The Golden Flashes win an overtime thriller to take the division crown over the Redhawks!)
MAC West– Northern Illinois
MWC Mountain– Utah State (The Cinderella Aggies have pulled it off! From 1-5 in 2020 to 9-3 and Mountain Division champs!)
MWC West– San Diego State (The Aztecs overcome a 13 point first half deficit against Boise on Friday to win their season finale and clinch the MWC West division crown.)
Sun Belt East– Appalachian State
Sun Belt West– UL-Lafayette
