These are in order from least shocking to most shocking according to the current lines at the Caesars Sportsbook.
NY Giants (+3.0) at Jacksonville- (Sun) 1:00– The Giants are on fire right now, so I don’t see any reason they can’t go down to Jacksonville and get a W. |
Indiana (+3.0) at Rutgers- 12:00– Two bad Big Ten teams here, but the Hoosiers have looked better than the Scarlet Knights the past few weeks. |
Hawaii (+5.0) at Colorado State- 4:00– Both of these teams are bad, but the Rainbow Warriors have look much improved the past few games. |
East Carolina (+5.0) vs. UCF- 7:30– The Pirates are one of those squads who plays down to their mediocre competition and plays up to their elite competition, especially at home. The Dowdy-Ficklen home crowd gives ECU a shot at pulling this one off. |
Atlanta (+6.0) at Cincinnati- (Sun) 1:00– The Falcons are playing well right now, and the Bengals have been up and down all season. |
Oklahoma State (+6.5) vs. Texas- 3:30– Spencer Sander’s injury is definitely a concern, but if he plays, I expect the Cowboys to spring the home upset against an overrated Texas squad. And even if he doesn’t, I expect the Pokes to keep it close. |
Bowling Green (+6.5) at Central Michigan- 1:00– Surprisingly, the Falcons have been a better football team that the Chippewas over the past few weeks. |
Detroit (+7.0) at Dallas- (Sun) 1:00– I expect some rust out of Dak in his first game back, and the Lions can put up enough points here to give themselves a shot at this upset. |
California (+7.5) vs. Washington- 10:30– The Golden Bears are primed for a strong bounce back effort at home against a Husky squad they have played really well against the past few seasons. |
Georgia State (+9.5) at App. State- Wed (7:30)– These are two teams headed in opposite directions as the Panthers have been red hot after a winless start to the season. Meanwhile, the wheels have seemed to fall off in Boone ever since the Mountaineers shocked the world with their win over Texas A & M. |
Vanderbilt (+14.0) at Missouri- 4:00– Both teams will be anxious for their first conference win, as I expect a low-scoring affair that will come right down to the wire. |
Boston College (+20.5) at Wake Forest- 3:30– The Deacs have played surprisingly bad after bye weeks under Clawson, and when you have as bad of a defense as Wake has, you are one bad offensive game away from getting a major scare from a team you shouldn’t. (See Wake/Liberty game) |
Last week’s Upset Pick of the Week: Georgia Southern (+12.0) over James Madison (Remarkably, 7 of my 14 upset picks last week won straight up!)
