Week 10 Football Upsets to Watch Out For

These are in order from least shocking to most shocking according to the current lines at the Caesars Sportsbook.

Temple (+3.5) vs. South Florida- 2:00– The Owls have been knocking on the door of a conference win for a few weeks now and what better time to get it than in a home matchup against the league’s fellow 0-4 team.
Syracuse (+3.5) at Pittsburgh- 3:30– The Cuse disappointed last week at home, but I think they bounce back against Pitt team that has fallen apart as the season has progressed. The Panthers overtime battle with Tennessee seems like it was years ago at this point.
Memphis (+3.5) vs. UCF- 3:30– The Tigers and Knights always have epic battles, and even though Memphis has dropped three straight, they were all close games against good teams. This also seems like a great time to catch UCF, as they are coming off the high of giving Cincinnati its first conference loss since 2019.
Georgia Southern (+4.0) vs. South Alabama- 4:00– Clay Helton’s team has played their best games against their toughest opposition this season, as seen in their upset wins over Nebraska and James Madison as well as their narrow road loss to Coastal Carolina. I think that run continues in this matchup against the perceived favorite to win the Sun Belt West.
NC State (+4.5) vs. Wake Forest- 8:00– Raleigh has been a house of horrors over the years for Wake Forest, as they have only won there twice in the last 18 meetings dating back to 1985. Both teams come in to this one banged up, but I think State’s defense may be the key to potentially springing the home upset here.
Stanford (+5.0) vs. Washington State- 3:30– I am not really sure how dialed in this Washington State team is right now after losing three straight games and four of their last five. Stanford has pulled two upsets already this season and I don’t see any reason they can’t get a third here on Saturday.
Maryland (+5.0) at Wisconsin- 12:00– The Terps have surprised a lot of people with their 6-2 start to the season and even though Wisky seems to have improved under interim coach Jim Leonhard, I am not sure they have the firepower on offense to keep pace with this Maryland squad who has scored more than 30 points in every game this season except their trip to Ann Arbor.
Vanderbilt (+7.0) vs. South Carolina- 7:30– The Commodores always seem to give the Gamecocks fits and almost upset them in Williams-Brice last year. This Vandy team is much better than that one, and with this game being played in Nashville, it seems like as good of time as any for the Dores to earn their first conference win under second year coach Clark Lea.
Boston College (+9.5) vs. Duke- (Fri) 7:00– The Eagles have played much better at home this season on the road, as their only quality football was played in Chestnut Hill against Louisville and in the first half of the Clemson gram. I think BC hangs around against an overachieving Duke squad and puts themselves in position to spring this upset.

Last week’s Upset Pick of the Week: North Texas (+10.0) over Western Kentucky
