Week 14 Football Upsets to Watch Out For

These are in order from least shocking to most shocking according to the current lines at the Caesars Sportsbook.

UCF (+4.0) at Tulane- 4:00– I will be attending this game in-person tomorrow, so I will find out first hand if this upset occurs. UCF already beat Tulane on the road by a touchdown earlier this season, and despite the injury to their quarterback Plumlee, they have the firepower to do it again.
Houston (+7.0) vs. Cleveland- (Sun) 1:00- There will be a slew of emotions and nerves for Deshaun Watson when he takes the field against his old team in his first game back from his lengthy suspension. Thus, I believe the Browns will be distracted enough for the Texans to spring the upset here.
LA Rams (+7.0) vs. Seattle- (Sun) 4:05- I realize Stafford and Kupp are out for the season now for the Rams, but don’t doubt Wake Forest’s John Wolford who is more than a capable back up. I also think the Seahawks have over achieved all season and are due for a dud performance on the road.
North Texas (+8.5) at UTSA- (Fri) 7:30- This exact game at the same location was a four point thriller earlier in the season. As they always say, it is tough to beat a good team twice in the season season, and I think the Roadrunners may fall victim to that tonight.
Coastal Carolina (+8.5) at Troy- 2:30– The build up for this game has been focused around the health of Grayson McCall. At this point, I am betting that he doesn’t play, which is why I am picking Troy against the spread. However, if McCall does play without any limitations, then Coastal is more than capable of springing this upset.
Purdue (+16.5) at Michigan- 8:00– On paper, the Wolverines should roll over the Boilermakers, but you have to factor in the Jeff Brohm effect, as the Purdue coach has a perfect 3-0 record against top 3 teams while at Purdue. Michigan is also in a prime letdown spot after their huge road win over Ohio State last weekend.

Last week’s Upset Pick of the Week: Georgia Southern (+4.5) over Appalachian State (Who would have thought when App upset A & M in week 2 that neither of those teams would become bowl eligible? Unbelievable!)
