These are in order from my most confident pick to least confident. Lines are based on the current spreads at the Caesars Sportsbook.
Clemson (-7.0) at Wake Forest- 12:00– This should be the lock of the year, as I will be absolutely stunned in my Deacs cover this spread. Wake hasn’t beaten a top 10 team since 1946, they have lost 13 in a row to Clemson and lost the last ten in a row by double digits. Also, a better Wake Forest team than this one lost to a worse Clemson team last year by 21 points. My heart and soul are praying for a Wake upset victory, but my head is expecting a Tiger beatdown. |
SMU (+2.0) vs. TCU- 12:00– The Mustangs are playing at home and are the better team here in my opinion. The Frogs have yet to prove anything under new coach Sonny Dykes. |
North Carolina (-1.5) vs. Notre Dame- 3:30– I predicted Notre Dame to be one of my top disappointment teams of the year, and they are even worse than I expected! The Heels should take this one fairly easily at home. |
Florida (+10.5) at Tennessee- 3:30– This game is always close, and Florida usually finds a way to win it in the end. The Gators have wrecked the hopes and dreams of past unbeaten Tennessee teams, and I think they could do the same on Saturday. |
Old Dominion (-5.5) vs. Arkansas State- 6:00– The Monarchs are pretty decent this year, and the Redwolves are absolutely terrible. ODU wins this one by double digits. |
Auburn (-7.0) vs. Missouri – 12:00– Expect a strong bounce back performance from Harsin’s crew as they try to save face after their embarrassing loss last week. |
Boise State (-16.0) at UTEP- (Fri) 9:00– The Broncos have once again had an underwhelming start to their season, but the Miners are absolutely terrible! Boise should win this one by over 20. |
Indiana (+16.5) at Cincinnati- 3:30– The Hoosiers gave a much better Cincinnati team all they could handle last year, and they should be riding high into this one after multiple nail-biting wins to start the season. Expect a close one here. |
Bowling Green (+30.0) at Miss. State- 12:00– This just seems like too many points to give a Falcons’ team who just upset a solid Marshall team last Saturday. Also, Mike Leach is notorious for underperforming in non-conference games against lesser opponents. |
South Florida (+14.5) at Louisville- 12:00– If the Bulls can go into the Swamp and almost come away with a victory, there is no reason they can’t do the same against the Cardinals. |
Last Week’s Record: 5-5, Overall Season Record: 12-18 (my record has improved by a game each week from the start of the season. It is time then for me to post a winning record in week 4.)
